Production of phthalate-free PVC pipes
Componit Lda., together with Politejo - Indústria de Plásticos, S.A. and University of Coimbra, aims to develop a new range of natural base plasticizers that will be synthesized in order to maximize its plasticising effect. The proposed approach aims at the development of synthesis method that can be used on an industrial scale and the synthesis of chemical structures that can simulate an interaction with PVC similar to the one that occurs with the use of phthalates.
The development of these plasticizers will increase the materials biodegradability and find a definitive solution that does not involve the use of toxic compounds.
